Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)

The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) was created to prevent discrimination and ensure equal opportunity for persons with disabilities in employment, government services, public accommodations, commercial facilities and transportation. The most recent updates to the law require facilities to accommodate people with disabilities and any equipment related to that disability, such as lifts or ramps for wheelchairs.

When a dispute arises between any of the above listed facilities or services and a disabled individual, mediation offers an efficient means by which to settle the problem. A lengthy court battle is expensive and usually not in the best interest of anyone involved in the dispute. Mediation ensures both parties are treated fairly and a resolution is reached that improves the overall situation for everyone involved.
